Terms of service.

The rules under which Alumniyat publishes its tools, and the limits of what those tools claim to be. Plain language wherever possible.

EFFECTIVE: 2026-05-18 · LAST UPDATED: 2026-05-18

1. Acceptance

By using alumniyat.com or any tool published on it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Alumniyat (a US-registered business based in California, referred to here as "Alumniyat", "we", "our", or "us").

2. What we publish

Alumniyat publishes free, browser-based utility tools and the editorial content that surrounds them. The tools are informational. They are designed to help you orient yourself in a topic, find a starting point, or check a small calculation — not to replace professional advice in regulated fields.

3. Not professional advice

Several Alumniyat tools touch areas — California rent law, homeowner insurance, assisted-living licensing, ADU zoning, vehicle records, immigration documents — where the consequences of a wrong move can be serious. The tools and the explanatory content around them are not legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, insurance advice, immigration advice, or licensed real-estate advice. They are general information published by a non-licensed editorial studio.

Always confirm any output with a licensed professional in your state before relying on it for a consequential decision.

4. Accuracy and updates

We work hard to keep our tools accurate and to cite our sources, but laws change, data sources change, and we are a small team. Information on the site may be out of date, incomplete, or wrong. If you spot something that looks off, please tell us at support@alumniyat.com and we'll review it.

5. Intellectual property

The Alumniyat name, logo, the design of the site, the editorial text, the original code, and the SVG illustrations are owned by Alumniyat. Public data we surface (statutes, agency inspection records, NHTSA recall data, etc.) remains in its original public-domain or government-source status; we don't claim ownership of public data.

You're welcome to link to any Alumniyat tool. You may not copy, scrape, mirror, or rehost the editorial content or the tool code on another property without our written permission. Quoting short excerpts with a credit and link is fine.

6. Acceptable use

When you use the site, you agree not to:

  • Use any tool in a manner that violates US, state, or local law.
  • Attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities without prior written consent, or interfere with other users.
  • Submit content through any form that is illegal, infringing, threatening, or knowingly false.
  • Use automated systems to scrape or republish our editorial content.

7. Third-party links and services

Tools may link to third-party websites (state agencies, source documents, vendor pages) and the site shows third-party advertising. We don't control those third parties and we're not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Use of their services is governed by their own terms.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and the tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alumniyat and its founders, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the site or any tool — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the site or these terms is limited to one hundred US dollars (USD $100.00).

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Alumniyat from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

11. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "effective" date at the top of this page and announced on the homepage. Continued use of the site after a change indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
